Is this course for Indigenous people only? I would have to miss the first day, but I would give anything to go, even though 
I'm not indigenous.

AFTRS in partnership with Screen Queensland will be offering a “Short Film Screenwriting” workshops Cairns from 24 to 26 June 2014.
This is a great opportunity for Indigenous people who are starting out in film or want to hone their skills to help with their upcoming short film projects.
These workshops are free to those that attend.

Lucy Gaffy
Writer & Director
Lucy Gaffy is an award-winning filmmaker and graduate of the Australian Film Television and Radio School .
Lucy has been working in the industry for over seven years across a broad range of productions including short films, documentaries, long-form projects and television commercials. She was the 2009 recipient of the European Union Travel Scholarship to attend DocPoint Festival in Helsinki to show her Documentary "Century Witness". In 2010 she was nominated for an Australian Directors Guild award and received an AFI nomination for her film “The Love Song of Iskra Prufrock” while in 2012 she was the recipient of the Kenneth B Myer Award for Exceptional New Talent.
Lucy was a recipient of the 2011 Screen NSW Emerging Filmmakers Fund for her short film "The Gift" and has recently been invited to submit her feature film project 364 to the Sundance Institute for consideration for their annual Screenwriters workshop.
